Motherland: Fort Salem - Streaming Review

I just bumped into Motherland: Fort Salem in the Star+ menu. I never had heard anything about it before.

This is a fantasy(/horror?) series where in an alternate past, the Salem trials went very different when Alder, a powerful witch, did something before getting hanged (not sure what it was, frankly), and America did a deal with the witches, where they became their armed forces, and were required to present themselves for training on Fort Salem when they turn 18.

The magic scheme for the series is almost all based on singing (thankfully not Disney style, just specific "seeds", or notes). That looks quite good in practice, IMHO.

I am on the middle of the second season, and I quite like it so far. Very enjoyable, and while it does have obvious plot consequences, overall it feels new, and not a re-hatch of other movies/books/series, which is unfortunately rarer than I'd like.
