The Temporal Void - Peter F. Hamilton - review

I've just finished The Temporal Void - by Peter F. Hamilton.

I've read many other memorable books by Hamilton (the Zombie books - The Reality Disfunction come to mind), including the CommonWealth Saga, which is in the same universe.

One of the things I love the most about this series is the tech. Ok, the gaiafield and dreamer stuff can be quite silly, but other than that there is a lot of pretty cool stuff - specially the human enhancements.

One interesting thing of this series is that the sequences on the Void read pretty much as fantasy, with the super-powers humans get in the Void. I enjoyed both the dreams and the present sequences (unlike some books, where I keep waiting for the writer to get back to the fun part!).

There is an almighty disaster for Edeard - the main Void character where Hamilton pulls a Deus-Ex machina (which he does a lot in his books, unfortunately), but there a few indications before so I can't complain too much.

Wrapping up, I loved the book, and highly recommend it.

I'm off to read the third volume!
