The Evolutionary Void - Book Review

I've just finished The Evolutionary Void, by Peter F. Hamilton - the final book of the Void trilogy. It was pretty awesome, and the series was well worth the time, even at more than a couple thousand pages. There was an explanation of Inigo's last dream, which was a satisfactory explanation to why he gave up on Living Dream. Ozzie makes a pretty big appearance. Many cool battles. And a few extra dreams of how Edeard end up... And some resurrections near the end. The ending was (for a change) reasonably well set-up. The reverse has been the case on many of Hamilton's books - he just pulls something silly out of his hat, and everything ends well. Not in this one! Very much recommended!

I've read many other memorable books by Hamilton (the Zombie books - The Reality Disfunction come to mind), including the CommonWealth Saga, which is in the same universe. One of the things I love the most about this series is the tech. I enjoyed both the dreams and the present sequences (unlike some books, where I keep waiting for the writer to get back to the fun part!). There is an almighty disaster for Edeard - the main Void character where Hamilton pulls a Deus-Ex machina (which he does a lot in his books, unfortunately), but there a few indications before so I can't complain too much. Wrapping up, I loved the...
